Celebrating the Art of Western Calligraphy in Wan Chai, HK
Works —
I had the honor of taking part in a Western calligraphy exhibition in Wan Chai, Hong Kong.
The exhibition was organized by my teacher and mentor, Patrick Leung, and the opening demonstration was especially memorable.
Together with Mr. Kong, a master Western calligrapher based in Hong Kong, I demonstrated the ruling pen, brush Roman, brush italic, Copperplate and many other beautiful hands, sharing the elegance and artistry of calligraphy with our visitors.
I believe the exhibition was a success: together with our visitors, we rediscovered a distinctive beauty in calligraphy that digital typefaces cannot offer, and the response was wonderfully warm.
My heartfelt thanks go to Patrick Leung for organizing such an inspiring event. It was a great honor to be part of this special celebration of art and creativity.
