A dedicated calligraphy ruler for drawing guidelines at the size and slant you need. One edge is set at 55° for Copperplate and Engrosser's script, the other at 52° for Spencerian. Spaced holes from 1 to 7 mm take a 0.2–0.7 mm mechanical-pencil lead for perfectly even horizontals.
